Traditionally churned butter is critical for making ghee.
That is what makes our ghee such an outstanding natural product. We take small batches of our pure butter which is then slowly melted and brought to the boil to eliminate all moisture. Once the moisture has evaporated, the butter is then slowly simmered for 6-8 hours until all of the milk solids have caramelised. This caramelisation is what gives our ghee its sweet, nutty aroma and rich taste. The ghee is then filtered and decanted by hand into jars. Our ghee is revered by many of our customers as being the most authentic, natural tasting ghee they have used.
Ghee is a very versatile ingredient
Ghee has a very high smoke point of 250 Degree C/482 Degree F making it a more healthy alternative to other cooking oils and fats. As well as being an essential ingredient for making authentic curries, it is ideal for roasting, sautéing and frying meat and vegetables. Blend Ghhhinto coffee to make a frothy bulletproof kept coffee. Ghee can also be used to produce delicious healthy sweet dishes.
Storage:
Ghee has a long shelf life of 2 years and more. It also has the advantage of being able to be stored at ambient temperature as well as chilled. As long as moisture and cross contamination is kept from entering the jar when opened, the ghee will last its shelf life.
